Tournament Director: Kris Kohout

Join us for a doubles event where one of us experienced disc golfers (The Sheriff if you will), convinces a rookie player (The Deputy) to join them for a quick doubles round at Chichester Park Woodvale to introduce them to the sport.

Howdy Folks, its nearly time for the 2021 Rookie Rodeo! For those of you not familiar with this fun event, it’s a doubles event where one of us experienced disc golfers (The Sheriff if you will), convinces a rookie player (The Deputy) to join them for a quick doubles round at Chichester Park Woodvale to introduce them to the sport. This event is being run on Sunday August the 29th from 10am to about 1pm at the course.

It’s $20 per player to join in the fun and the awards presentation will take place at the Woodvale Tavern, following the event, which is just up the road from the course with some platters of food provided as part of the tournament.

All times after round 1 start are subject to change at the discretion of the TD.

We will be using holes 1 to 11 and play them twice to avoid crossing paths with events on the field ovals.

The rules

Format is alternating best shot

  • So both team members drive (throw a tee shot) on each hole; and then the team chooses which drive to play from.
  • Then the alternate player throws the approach
  • Then it alternates again until your team lands your disc in the basket.

For example, if the Sheriff’s drive is chosen; the Deputy throws the approach; then the Sheriff putts out.

Extra rules for the tee shot

Choose carefully, you can only choose two consecutive drives from one player before you MUST choose the other players drive. For example if you choose the Sheriff’s drive on both Hole 1 and 2, you must choose the Deputies drive on Hole 3.

To Qualify to be a “Deputy”

The player must have played TWO OR LESS official disc golf events (Tournaments or League Days).

Divisions

The divisions are as follows:

  • Mens (both team members are adult males)
  • Womens (both team members are adult females)
  • Mixed (one adult female and one adult male)
  • Juniors (one adult and one child under 15)

Sheriff, if your draw is quick and have a Deputy already roped in to play, please register and pay below. Hope you can make it along!
